Forty Winks

'Forty Winks' is a pastel sketch of a young leopard cub relaxing in the fork of a tree. This image has been referenced using a photograph courtesy of wildlife photographer Sibylie Brodmann.

I've started by penciling in the outline of the cub and it's spots along with the  small details of the tree.

Here I have added a dappled background of the forest canopy before beginning to work on the finer details of the cub itself.
