All about A Brush with Africa
Internationally renowned wildlife artist Simon Stevenson was born near Moshi, Tanzania, East Africa, where he was to spend his early childhood living in the bush amongst wildlife on the slopes of the world’s highest free-standing volcano Mt Kilimanjaro. At 19,340ft (5895m) it is also Africa’s highest mountain. At the age of nine, his family moved from the bush to the town of Arusha. Here he was to have access to some of Africa’s finest game reserves where he was to avidly study it's abundant wildlife. He was to spend his time exploring and tracking for animals in the bush in a number of these amazing parks. Now many years on, his images adorn the walls of the lodges in those same reserves. For those fortunate to have visited this Eden of Africa, the experience enters deep into their soul.
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the places and moments that take our breath away."
